Who is Visualchemy

Visualchemy is Lukasz Boros, freelance visual artist from Poland, living in London since 2004. His main focus is broadly understood visualisation - designing the visual content for any given media like music, ideas, brands, designs or data.

Architecture

Following the footsteps of his father he studied Architecture and Urban Planning at Technical University of Gdansk, Poland. Halfway through the five year long course he realized that he prefers to visualise things rather than actually designing or building them. Despite that insight the reason prevails and he continues studying and finishes the course in 2004 with a highly innovative diploma project of "Architectural Interface to Virtual Reality"

3D

Beginning his romance with 3D in mid-nineties with now archaic 3D Studio 4.0 for DOS he pursued the path of 3D animator on and off untill now. He's been freelancing during architecture studies, working for production companies, multimedia publishers and architectural practices, using his 3D skills throughout his later career.

London: Urban designer

Immediately after finishing the studies he left Poland and came to UK - originally just for half a year to practice the language and discover British culture. Shortly afterwards, he arrived in London and got a job as an assistant urban designer at The Landscape Partnership. Being his first full time job in UK and first professional occupation, this experience taught him a lot about designer practice, clients approach and professional communication.

London: VJ Visualchemy

Living in a vibrant city of London and discovering its colorful club scene resulted in another twist in his career. His passion for live video, animation and performance led to becoming a VJ under the name of Visualchemy. He's been performing live video mixes using his own content and custom effects at various venues, parties and festivals. He designed and built a successful, interactive video installation 'uProjected'. Samples of his VJ work are available at "night" side of this website.

Motion design and visualisations

Live performance despite all its fun turned out to be too narrow niche to be sustainable. Due to production and technical constraints of typical club nights it also didn't allow for the desired level of production. Considering this, Lukasz has started to move away from club visuals to focus on animation, post production and visualisation. Working on animated logos, leaders and DVD authoring. He decided to keep his stage name and become a visualiser in the broadest meaning of the word.
